It is sad to think of all the cars out there we are simply not able to own because we live in the good ole USA. They are the cars not imported to the US or designed for another market that does not share our appreciation of cup holders and wide seats.
Some non-US bound models are tantalizingly gorgeous while others are admirably practical. The lucky Europeans seem to get all the best models followed closely by our Asian brothers and sisters. It's not fair.
Fortunately, the US gets a fare share of nice vehicles but they are often "altered" for the US market or slightly dumbed down or, as in the case with the 2009 American Ford Focus, hideously disfigured.
I am not sure who American car manufactures consult during their focus group sessions but it certainly is not me. Otherwise, I could have advised them to copy Saturn and simply import a bunch of European models "as are" so that we Americans could have the good stuff as well.
The slide show below presents some of my favorite and exclusively "non American" cars that we can only dream about (unless you move overseas of course).
