Two opportunities for Christian-hosted discussion and learning are coming up this week:

The Summer Sessions at Avante series is hosted by Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Maplewood.  The sessions feature some of "St. Louis' best minds" discussing topics relating to faith and culture.  This week, Covenant Theological Seminary professor Jerram Barrs will discuss "Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, and the Way to a Better Life."  Sessions are Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. at 7225 Manchester Road in Maplewood.

Midrash's monthly Theology at the Bottleworks continues this coming week with the topic, "Church in America: R.I.P.?"  Discussion begins at 7 p.m. August 19th at the Schlafly Bottleworks.

Both events are free and open to the public.
