Yesterday America got a sneak peek at Jon Gosselin's Good Morning America interview that aired Tuesday morning on ABC, where Jon claimed that his soon-to-be ex-wife Kate verbally abused him and beat him down.
Today, Jon went on record to say that he despises Kate, and that she was the reason for the downfall of their marriage, claiming that she even tried to separate him from his family.
"She used to hold the kids over my head and say 'Don't spend time with your mom, spend time with your kids.' Why can't I spend time with my mom and my kids together? I'm not going back to that lifestyle," he said.
As for their hit TLC reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Jon says the two now have their own separate film crews.
"I can't sit on the sofa with that woman," Jon said. "I can't sit [on the sofa] with someone I despise."
Jon says he can't stand Kate because she's not speaking from the heart.
"Please, the stuff you tell me in private should be the stuff you tell me on TV," he added.
Jon feels that Kate has unfairly gained a lot of public support by playing the victim in their break-up. He even said that while she still wears her ring for public perception, he couldn't wear his if he wanted to because Kate took it.
"I don't wear my ring because she took my ring. I don't have a ring. I laid it down one day and it was gone. Who else would take it? I checked underneath all of my kids' pillows. That's where everything ends up in the house anyway. So, it wasn't there," he said.
Jon says that the most frustrating part of things is that up until now, he has had no voice in the media.
"Yeah okay, I made mistakes. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go out to the clubs. But we all learn from mistakes. Except mine are public."
Kate's response to Jon's interview was this:
"While I certainly have a very different perception of how our marriage dissolved; for the sake of my children I maintain that I'm not going to go into details of aspects I believe should remain private."
