The House of Representatives approved a health care reform measure late Saturday night by a vote of 220-215.
The measure resulted in 39 Democrats voting "no" and only one Republican, Joseph Cao of New Orleans, voting "yes." Cao hails from a heavily Democrat district that was previously represented by William Jefferson, who was found with cash in his freezer by the FBI.
Cheers erupted as the key 218th vote was recorded. Virginia Democrats Rick Boucher and Glenn Nye voted against the measure along with all five Virginia Republicans. Democrats Bobby Scott, James Moran, Tom Perriello and Gerald Connolly voted "yes."

The Senate has yet to vote on a final health care reform measure. Sledding for such a bill will be even tougher there as Democrats need 60 votes to end any filibuster.
The Democrats are dependent upon several key moderates and independents in the Senate, such as Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, who has said he will not vote for it.
