Smokey Robinson and Alicia Keys will be honored at the 22nd Annual Rhythm & Soul Awards on June 26, 2009 in Los Angeles. The invitation - only event is sponsored by ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) will also honor the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2008 R&B/Hip- Hop, Rap and Gospel charts.

Keys, a 12- time Grammy Award winner will receive the ASCAP Golden Note Award which is presented to songwriters, composers, and artists who have achieved career milestones.

Robinson, a music legend who's roots began at Motown, will receive the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award. The ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award is given to ASCAP members who have had a major impact on the legacy of Rhythm and Soul music.
