Recording artist Paula Abdul, Snoop Dogg and Adam Lambert announced the nominations for The 2009 American Music Awards in the Sunset Ballroom of the Beverly Hills Hotel on Tuesday, October 13.

After the nomination were announced, Paula Abdul talked with the press. Here is what she said when she spoke with the Examiner.Com.

EXAMINER:It so good to see you this morning annoucing the AMA nominations. You have performed on the show and have won as well.
ABDUL: I love the AMAs. It is the best show as it is voted on by the fans, the people. I love Dick Clark and Larry Klein. They know how to produce a show. It will be a good show. I will be there...presenting an award. I have won a bunch of awards there, and performed there over the years.

EXAMINER:What did you think of the nominations this morning?
ABDUL:It was great. Michael Jackson getting nominated is just great. All the nominees are great. Then the performers will be great too. Plus I got to see Adam. I am so proud of him.
EXAMINER:I bet you are proud of him.
ABDUL: Oh I am. I am so proud of him. It was so good to see him. I haven't seen him since the show. I love him... I was the one person who said he was great every week on the show. He is going to do great. I said that he would be a superstar and he will. Plus we get to see him perform at the show.

EXAMINER:What is your favorite American Music Awards performance?
ABDUL:Oh..there has been so many... every one ...maybe Janet Jackson.

EXAMINER:There has been so much anticipation to see what you have planned now that you will no longer be on American Idol.
ABDUL:You know... I keep hearing all the things I am supposed to be doing from all of you guys. I am going to take all the ideas and write them all down. I will be making announcements soon on what I am doing when things are  finalized. Nothing is set till that man over there tells me(points to manager). When he says so....my manager then it is happening. Leaving Idol was a hard decision. I will miss my dysfunctional family, but not really because I talked to them already all the time. I will be watching the show every week now just like everybody else. I am just glad to be a part of history with the show.
