Your kids need exercise, some fun, to see other kids.  We all know that.  But sometimes it is hard to decide where to go with all the options out there.  I recommend checking out Great Play in Redmond.
Great Play is a fun new play gym for kids, but it is more than just the regular gym.  The philosophy of the folks at Great Play is that they want your kids to have fun while they learn the skills that make playing sports enjoyable.  During classes, the coaches help your kids practice sports skills like kicking a soccer ball or throwing a football in a fun, low-pressure way.  You don't have to worry about your kids being the last one picked during recess, because they will feel confident with the throwing and kicking skills they need.  But this isn't about becoming a star football player- of course, your kid may grow up to be the next MVP, but that isn't the goal.  The goal is to feel good and have fun playing sports and games.

During classes, your kids get to play and have fun in the huge gym that is full of age appropriate toys and sports equipment.  But there is a high-tech twist:  the walls are interactive!  Scenes like a cityscape or beach are projected onto the walls.  When your child throws a ball at the wall and hits the door of the building, the door opens!  Hit the sun at the top and suddenly day turns into night!  My daughter went crazy playing with the interactive walls.  Most classes include the interactive walls as part of the fun and learning.  To see the walls in action, check out the video below.

One more thing that separates Great Play from most other kids gyms is the open playtimes.  Like other gyms, extra open playtimes are included as part of your class membership.  But you don't have to be a member to come to the drop-in play!  Anyone can come to the drop-in playtime to let their kids wiggle off some steam.  You can bring your laptop and sit in the lobby and use the free wi-fi while you watch the fun.  It is a great deal and my daughter loved it.  If you are looking for some fun for your kids, you won't go wrong at Great Play.
