Break out your berets because this Sunday is Seattle's Bastille Day Festival! That's right, it's time to enjoy all things French this weekend as we prepare to celebrate Bastille Day (which is actually on July 14). Bring the entire family to the Seattle Center to participate in this fun event.

There will be plenty of food and wine (and kid-friendly drinks, too) available. In addition, there will be music, cooking demonstrations, expos, and artists on hand to entertain and delight you. Kids will enjoy their own activities involving music and crafts.

In case you're wondering, Bastille Day is considered the first day of the French Revolution in 1789. On the morning of July 14, French citizens armed themselves and stormed the Bastille Fortress, which mainly housed political opponents to the French government. The citizens viewed it as their first victory against the government and the revolution began.

The Seattle Bastille Day Festival is on Sunday, July 12, from 11am to 6pm.
