Although it is a popular tradition, nowhere is it written in stone that Thanksgiving dinner must be consumed at home. The idea of dining at a restaurant on Thanksgiving might not seem ideal, but consider this: someone else will prep the food, cook a delicious traditional meal with all the fixings, and then wash the dishes afterward, while all you have to do is foot the bill (or split it amongst your family). You don't need an excuse to take the holiday out of your home, but a few handy ones might be that too few family members will be attending this year, that you're a terrible cook, or that you feel like trying something new this year. We've assembled a sample of some of the restaurants that will be open on the Eastside for Thanksgiving, and yes, they are all family-friendly! Just be sure to make your reservations now, because believe it or not, these places can be completely booked on holidays.

Barking Frog - Woodinville
The Barking Frog at Willows Lodge in Woodinville will be open and offering a gourmet meal for your dining pleasure. Call for reservations: 425.424.2999
Daniel's Broiler - Bellevue
Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue Place will have Thanksgiving dinner served between noon and 9pm. You can choose between roast turkey, prime rib, or fresh salmon. Special pricing for children is available. Call for reservations: 425.462.4662
Maggiano's Little Italy - Bellevue
Maggiano's will be serving up Thanksgiving with a traditional roast turkey and much more. They are open from noon to 7pm. Prices are $34.95 per person and $16.95 for ages 5 to 12. If you'd rather eat at home, you can call for carryout and home delivery! Call for reservations: 425.519.6476
Meritage Restaurant - Redmond
Located in the Marriott Redmond Town Center, Meritage will be offering a Thanksgiving buffet. Call for reservations: 425.498.4039
Seafood Grill and Twisted Cork Wine Bar - Bellevue
The Seafood Grill and Twisted Cork at the Hyatt Regency downtown will have a Thanksgiving buffet available from noon until 7pm. $29 per person, children 5 to 12 are $16.95, and children under 5 are free with a paid adult. Call for reservations: 425.637.0808
Trellis - Kirkland
Located in The Heathman Hotel in downtown Kirkland, Trellis will be serving dinner from noon until 8pm. The price is $49 per person and $21.00 for children 12 and under. Call for reservations: 425.284.5900
Bin on the Lake
Enjoy your meal while gazing out at Lake Washington. Formerly the Yarrow Bay Grill, they are offering an extensive menu to allow you to customize your meal to suit your epicurean ways. Open from noon to 7pm. Call for reservations: 425.803.5595.
