Cavendish, Cancellara, and Martin, oh, my!
Couldn't resist this photo and the opportunity to spotlight the most sought after colors in France this month.
Colors of the Tour
Go for the Gold Yellow:
The biggest prize in Tour de France cycling is a yellow jersey. If you are in it, you are the overall race leader on aggregate time since the start of the Tour.
The record for most yellow wins goes to Lance Armstrong (7), followed by Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain (5 each).
There are also awards to help spectators spot the category leaders.
Green: This points prize goes to the most consistent stage finisher and is normally worn by one of the best sprinters in the field.
White: The white jersey goes to the best-placed young (under-26) rider in the general classification.
Polka dot (red and white): King of the Mountains contenders live for the climbs and the opportunity to sport this jersey.
