Here's your chance to experience the warmth and welcome of Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountain communities.  Fourth of July events include old fashioned games, BBQ and other delicious treats, arts and crafts, rubber duck races, and fireworks, of course.

Union County, Blairsville, GA    Boat Parade  Saturday   
Boat Parade on Lake Nottely    The annual Union County Fourth of July Boat Parade will take place again at Lake Nottely Marina. Boats can be decorated in any theme they wish. Several creative boats are presented trophies, with a grand prize also awarded.  Boats should line up at Lake Nottely Marina beginning around 11:00a.m. - 11:30a.m. Boats will pass in review beginning at 11:30a.m., then trophies will be awarded.   The parade down the lake starts at 12:00noon. There is no charge to participate in the parade. Visitors can view the parade from many around Nottely Marina 

Union County, Blairsville, GA   4th Annual Old-Fashioned Games   Saturday    
The Union County Lions Club is sponsoring the 4th Annual Old-Fashioned Games held at Meeks Park on Saturday, July 4th starting at 4:00p.m.    There will be games for younger age groups, including the 25-yard dash, three-legged race, water balloon toss, sack race, egg and spoon race and hula hoop contest. Games for older age groups will tug-of-war, football, softball throws and watermellon eating contests.   There will be hot dogs and soft drinks for sale.

Lake Blue Ridge    Fireworks Celebration    Saturday 
Travel 515 east to Windy Ridge Road (Conoco station & Kentucky Fried Chicken) go to flashing red light turn left, follow Old Hwy 76 to the Marina Barbeque and live music from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Fireworks display at dusk.

Ellijay, GA    Celebration Parade, Ellijay Arts Around the Square, Fireworks    Saturday   
Parade - 10 am   Arts Around the Square - Calling artists, craftsman, musicians, entertainers, etc.   Food, Fun & Music   Antique Cars - Antique Car Owners - Call Ouida at 706-889-5658 to register - No Entry Fee   Fireworks - 9:45 pm

Hiawassee, GA   Old Fashioned 4th     Saturday
Join Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa for an Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration. Enjoy our All American Cookout from 10am to 9pm, and take in some fun family activities and cap the night off with a fireworks show. 

McCaysville, GA   Street Parade, Pancake Breakfast, Tater Hill Fireworks   Saturday  
The TriCities Business Association continues a long-standing Copper Basin tradition of celebrating our nation's independence with a fireworks display from the top of 'Tater Hill' in McCaysville a half an hour past sunset (aproximately 9:30 pm).   The fireworks can be seen from almost all areas of town. Stores & Restaurants will be open late. Other activities during the Independence Day weekend include an old fashioned street parade on Main Street in Ducktown, a Pancake Breakfast in Epworth and Miner's Homecoming activities all weekend. 

Suches, GA    @Woody Gap School   Saturday  
The fireworks will begin at dark, but residents and visitors are invited to gather around 7:00p.m. for fellowship, hot dogs, & soft drinks.  Before the fireworks, the Gaddistown Homemakers will sponsor a rubber duck race and there will be mountain, patriotic music and clogging.  Seating is limited - You might want to bring lawn chairs.  Event funded by special contributions from sponsors, individuals and businesses in the Suches community and county.

Young Harris, GA    All American Cookout and Fireworks    Saturday 
Join Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa for an Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration on Saturday from 10am to 9pm. Enjoy our All American Cookout and take in some fun family activities and cap the night off with a fireworks show. 

Hiawassee, GA   Boat Parade  Saturday 
5pm - Towns County Chamber of Commerce presents their Annual 4th of July Boat Parade on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, GA followed by their 4th of July Fireworks Display. See decorated boats of all kinds and shapes on beautiful Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, GA in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains. The boat parade begins at 5:00PM at Nantahala Bay and proceeds to the Ridges Resort and Club. A prize is given for the 'Best of Show'. Come enjoy this delightful tradition which is followed by the 4th of July Fireworks at 9:45PM at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds.
