Glenn Beck will be in Utah today to make an appearance at the Stadium of Fire. Glenn Beck has come under fire himself this week for an interview with former CIA analyst Michael Scheuer, although most of the criticism has been directed at Michael Scheuer.
John Stuart had this to say, with profanity bleeped out by Comedy Central:

CrooksandLiars.com posted the video in it's full context:
The context of the story was 1,500 unarmed National Guard volunteers are being sent to the US Mexico border to help enforce border security. It does sound rather odd they will be unarmed when you look at the violence from the drug cartels in Mexico. Just last year one dozen soldiers from a Mexico military base were kidnapped, tortured, and beheaded by a drug cartel. There was a note attached to the bodies stating, "For every one of mine you kill, I will kill ten."
On November 9, 2008 the UK Times reported a drug Cartel in Mexico kidnapped a five-year-old boy and then murdered him by injecting sulphuric acid into his heart. The gruesome nature of the murder appeared to be punishment for his mother going public with the boy's kidnapping.
In the same UK Times article they reported:
Although the rich may be protected, they are not immune. Javier Morena’s death recalled the recent kidnapping of Fernando Marti, the 14-year-old son of a sports equipment tycoon, who was snatched at a police checkpoint while being driven to school. It prompted a 100,000-strong protest march at the government’s inability to protect children.
The family paid a £1m ransom but the boy’s decomposing body was found days later in the boot of a car. It now appears that the police uniforms worn by the gang were genuine: the plot is alleged to have been organised by a Mexico City police commander.
The article lists the drug cartel kidnapping rate in Mexico to be as high as 500 per month
Even in this context, saying the only thing that can help us is another 911 attack does sound drastic:
Scheuer: The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States. Because it's going to take a grass-roots bottom-up pressure. Because these politicians prize their office, prize the praise of the media and the Europeans. It's an absurd situation again. Only Osama can execute an attack which will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary.
Beck: Which is why, I was thinking this weekend, if I were him, that would be the last thing I would do right now.
After 911 US citizens got the Iraq War, and the Patriot Act. Would another 911 produce anything helpful?
