Today, the cast of this season’s Dancing With the Stars was announced on Good Morning America, according to Yahoo OMG!. There will be quite a few popular DWTS contestants this season, as well as some that you have probably never heard of. Here are some of the celebrities that you can expect to see on Dancing With the Stars.
Melissa Joan Hart, who starred as Sabrina the Teenage Witch for years, is one of the faces that you can expect to see on Dancing With the Stars this season. Due to her overwhelming popularity, we can expect to see this actress go far.
Kelly Osbourne, who is the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, will also be a DWTS contestant. The actress is often criticized for being overweight. Will this affect her performance on the dance floor? If it does, will Ozzy fans be able to keep her in the competition?
R&B singer Mya will be competing for the Dancing With the Stars championship title once the show begins. One of the songs that Mya is most well known for is “Lady Marmalade,” which she did with Lil’ Kim, Christina Aguilera, and Pink. No one has heard too much of Mya in recent times. Could she be trying to use DWTS to make a comeback?
Another one of the singers who will be on DWTS this season is Macy Gray. The singer was a one hit wonder, with her song “I Try.”
Ashley Hamilton is perhaps a lot like Paris Hilton - famous for who he is. His father is George Hamilton, his stepfather is Rod Stewart, and he was briefly married to 90210 star Shannen Doherty. He will be taking part in the Dancing With the Stars competition. He had a minor role in the movie Beethoven's 2nd.
There are two very famous celebrity siblings who are going to be competing on DWTS this season. The first is Aaron Carter, who is the younger sibling of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter.
The second is Donny Osmond, who is brother of Marie Osmond, a former Dancing With the Stars contestant. When his sister performed, Donny Osmond was doing a lot of coverage on DWTS. Many felt that what he had to say was very biased, but Marie Osmond was kept in the competition long after she proved that her talent was not too strong. It was during this time when many were upset that she remained in the competition instead of Cheetah Girls' Sabrina Bryan. Is Donny Osmond influential enough to make it all the way to the top?
Debi Mazar of Entourage will be competing on DWTS. The celebrity has also starred in several music videos for Madonna. Interestingly enough, Debie Mazar may be familiar with Ashley Hamilton, since she also starred in Beethoven's 2nd.
Mark Dacascos, who is most well known as the Chairman of The Next Iron Chef and for his role in The Legend of Bruce Lee, will be competing.
Tom DeLay is a former Republican House Majority Leader who will be making his way out onto the dance floor this season. He resigned after being indicted for finance violations.
Former model Kathy Ireland will be competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2009.
Joanna Krupa, who was named the sexiest swimsuit model in the world by Maxim, will be on DWTS.
The athletes on Dancing With the Stars often are the ones who most impress the judges. This season you can expect to see Louie Vito, who is a professional snowboarder, and Natalie Coughlin, who is a swimmer who has won six gold metals from the Olympics. She is also very accomplished, as the youngest swimmer to have earned so many wins at the Olympics.
Michael Irvin is a former Dallas Cowboys player who will be competing on Dancing With the Stars. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Chuck Liddell, who is known in the UFC as "The Iceman," will also be starring on DWTS.
Which celebrity will make his or her way to the top on Dancing With the Stars? You'll just have to wait until you watch the show, which premieres on September 21!
