Kate Gosselin and her husband recently filed for divorce and the future of Jon and Kate Plus 8 has been left up in the air. It does not seem as though things are going terrible for Kate Gosselin, however. The reality TV show mom has been invited to a very honorable event that is being held by Marie Shriver, the first lady of California.
The invitations for the Annual Women’s Conference were sent out five months ago. This is before Jon and Kate Gosselin filed for divorce. It is also before there were photos consistently emerging of Jon Gosselin with other women. Kate Gosselin was also accused of cheating on Jon with her bodyguard. Although the celebrity couple has not fully addressed all of the problems surrounding their marriage, they made the decision to get divorced for the sake of their children.
Why did Kate Gosselin make the invitation list? What’s interesting is that Maria Shriver is actually not the one who thought about inviting her. According to E!Online News, Shriver’s teenage daughters are the ones who came up the idea with inviting her. They are fans of Jon and Kate Plus 8.
This is really not an invitation that should be taken too lightly. Kate Gosselin has made an invitation list which includes many other reputable and well known women. Katie Couric, Kelly Preston, Cindy McCain, Elizabeth Edwards, and Madeline Albright are all invited, according to E!Online News. Making an invitation list that includes such women really shows that Kate Gosselin’s celebrity status is not going to go away any time soon, regardless of the fact that she and Jon Gosselin have filed for divorce.
