There seems to be a well-funded advertising campaign afoot to convince America to line up for flu shots this fall. Unlike prior years, the recommendations for 2009 are to receive inoculations for two different kinds of flu, each of which requires 2 injections. Shots for what might be called seasonal flu and another set for Swine flu are advertised for an average of $25.00 each. While immunizing against influenza may sound like a good idea on the surface, it becomes more questionable as you look deeper.
Here are a few things to consider when deciding for or against the 2009 battery of flu shots. This is by no means an exhaustive list of precautions and warnings but these should, at least, tart one thinking about blindly submitting to the latest panic.
1) Influenza this year, despite a fancy name, is just another flu. None of the strains are unusually deadly and, based upon results from the 2009 flu season in the Southern hemisphere, Swine flu has been less deadly than many other outbreaks in the last 50 years. Using Centers for Disease Control figures, approximately 36,000 Americans die from flu each year but so far in 2009, H1N1 flu has accounted for only about 600 deaths, worldwide. This number is fewer than deaths expected from the vaccine in a mass inoculation program.
2) Flu shots in the United States have proven to be a waste of time and money in spite of the annual push for these shots. This year the program calls for two sets. Each set will require two injections because it was found that one shot didn’t produce enough anti-bodies. There have been no tests to determine if two injections of each will supply any more protection than one. So, despite this admission that previous flu shots were worthless, the same people are trying to convince the American public to buy four shots instead of one.
3) Manufacturers of flu vaccines have never been able to predict which strains will appear. They have consistently supplied vaccines for the wrong flu. For the current year, they are recommending inoculation for a seasonal flu, which may or may not be the correct strain. They are also producing vaccine for a pandemic flu that appears to be milder than most seasonal influenzas in recent years.
4) All manufacturers add substances called adjuvants to vaccines. Adjuvants are additives that are
said to help stabilize the vaccine for a longer shelf life and to increase the effectiveness of the vaccine by stimulating anti-body production. Common adjuvants contain mercury (thimerosal), aluminum and squalene. People fight the introduction of lead into their metabolic systems but permit the introduction of mercury and aluminum? Mercury is far more toxic than lead and aluminum has been implicated in the sequence leading to Alzheimer’s disease. So vaccines, including ones for influenza, are inherently unsafe, especially for the segments of the population most at risk, the very young and the elderly.
5) The FDA has authorized the use of vaccines without testing them. For the first time in history, the vaccines tested by the FDA are not the ones that will be administered to the public. These mock vaccines were used to gain FDA approval but proved nothing except the efficiency of a manufacturing process. There is no proof that the vaccine is either safe or effective. Essentially, the vaccines to be administered to the public are experimental.
6) Americans are over-vaccinated. This has been associated with an increase in heavy metal toxicity, asthma, allergies, type I diabetes, autism and more.
7) Swine flu as seen in the laboratory is not seen anywhere else. As stated by Dr. John Carlo, “This strain of swine influenza that’s been cultured in a laboratory is something that’s not been seen anywhere actually in the United States and the world, so this is actually a new strain of influenza that’s been identified.” (Globe and Mail, Canada) Being inoculated against a domestic or man-made flu that is restricted to the laboratory is irrational at best.
8) Past mass-inoculations against influenza have produced results that were worse than the disease itself. Since 1976, Americans have been getting vaccinated against the flu. This has produced a significant rise in Guillain-Barre Syndrome and has resulted in a number of deaths directly related to the vaccines.
9) Overuse of influenza drugs can push dangerous viral mutation. This occurs in much the same way that the overuse of antibiotics has helped create superbugs that are resistant to any attempt to kill them. For example, Centers for Disease Control statistics indicate that over 99% of influenza viruses are now
completely resistant to Tamiflu.
Unfortunately, the current push toward immunization is widespread and well funded. There is a very real possibility of significant damage that will not be recognized until it is too late to prevent. The government is beginning to talk about making flu shots mandatory. This is not only irrational but a violation of the Constitution and profoundly un-American. The pharmaceutical industry is the only entity that benefits from the huge and completely unnecessary growth in inoculations. It is time to contact your legislators to tell them coercion of Americans is intolerable. It’s your body; protect it.
