It was my friend's husband that first told me the secret. The secret of bowling on Wii Sports. It's during one of the bowling trainings – power throws. For those of you who have never done this training on Wii Sports, power throws is a bowling training session where you have to throw the bowling ball as hard as you can to try to knock down all the pins. It starts with the first frame having 10 pins, the next frame having 15 and the next frames having more and more pins until you reach the last frame of 91 pins. If you knock all the pins down you earn double the points.
Until recently, Michael and I had always tried throwing our arm out to get all the pins knocked down. HOWEVER, the other night, my friend's husband told us the secret!
SPOILER ALERT!
In the last frame that contains 91 pins, instead of throwing the bowling ball as hard as you can down the, you have to try and balance the ball on the right bumper/railing. If you can balance the ball on the railing the entire way down, the bowling ball will then hit a red button at the end of the bumper. A BOOM will sound and then all the pins will magically knock down.
It's definitely not as easy as it sounds. You have to position your bowling ball just right to where it balances on the railing so that it rides down without falling off the bumper. It took Michael and me many times each to finally get it right. Michael’s challenge was getting the bowling ball on the railing in the first place. I could get the bowling ball up on the railing, but most of the time it would fall off, so I had to learn the angle to get it up there just so.
It really is thrilling to learn new ways to do things better in a game.
