Talk-show host Rachael Ray is attempting to do her part in a struggling economy. Along with the help of former 98 Degrees frontman Nick Lachey, the celebrity chef unveiled a complete overhaul on Saturday for Our Father's Kitchen in Lachey's home town of Cincinnati.
The kitchen is designed to help provide food for those in need; unfortunately, there are many right now in need of an extra boost. Ohio has been one of the hardest-hit areas in a struggling economy--the unemployment rate there is even higher than the national average (which recently climbed over 10%).
"This town has been devastated," Ray told The Cincinnati Enquirer. "We want to do something for them that will last much longer than one meal, one day." This isn't the first time that Ray has lent a helping hand to struggling soup kitchens around the country, and it will almost certainly not be the last
"Rachael Ray" will continue to air in syndication Monday through Friday.
