We've watched Fox News get attacked by everyone from President Obama to the heads of news networks like MSNBC and CNN; however, who would have expected "Sesame Street" to be joining in? The good people at E! Online brought out a clip from an episode two years old on Monday, and it sure provided some surprising subtext about how Sesame Workshop feels about the cable news giant. As a reaction, conservative bloggers aren't exactly pleased.
In the clip, Oscar the Grouch is hosting his own news channel (GNN) when a caller decides to express their opinion: "From now on I'm watching Pox News! Now there's a trashy news show!"
Is this a stab at Fox New? It sure doesn't appear to be a coincidence, and more moments like these could be brought to the surface now that "Sesame Street" is commemorating its 40th anniversary on Tuesday.
The joke seems to be all in good fun, but do you think it's fair for children's programming to express a political opinion? After all, children are impressionable and "Sesame Street" is a program designed to teach children basic functions.
