Stephen Colbert is never afraid to show off his patriotism, and "The Colbert Report" host is now taking the opportunity to again support his fellow Americans. This time, he is campaigning to help the United States speedskaters; in fact, he is asking his fans to sponsor them for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Ironically, the BBC is reporting that members of the U. S. speedskating team will wear Colbert Nation logos on their uniform. Speedskating Chief Robert Crowley shared his thoughts: "We're highly optimistic that the country is going to get behind this and get behind the Colbert Nation and support this amazing team."
Of course, with the struggling economy it is currently unknown as to how much Colbert's fans will actually manage to raise for the cause. The show is taking in donations at its official site.
Is this a cause you could get behind? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below!
