'Jon and Kate Plus 8:' rumors begin of a Jon Gosselin sex tape

Could Jon Gosselin really be in a sex tape?
Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Jon Gosselin is now being accused of having a sex tape, at least according to a recent story by The National Enquirer. The tabloid claims that while Jon was in Los Angeles last month, some people close to him secretly placed a camera inside of his hotel room and then coerced a woman into having sex with him.
Of course, the article's source is someone we've heard from before: Jon's former nanny / flame Stephanie Santoro. She tells the Enquirer that "[Bodyguard] Tom told me that Jon was secretly videotaped having sex with a woman in Los Angeles in October, and he's seen the tape!" Santoro also claims that she's seen the reality star use cocaine on a number of occasions.
Now that the story has actually been reported, we can begin to question its validity. The first question we have to ask here is why Jon's own people would want to hurt him by making a sex tape. These people need jobs like everyone else, and deliberately hurting their employer doesn't seem like a smart course of action.
In addition, we have to wonder why Santoro would be talking to Jon's bodyguard since she has been out of the picture for several months now. We already know that she is willing to trash Jon for publicity at every opportunity, and this could very well be another chance to do so (much like her claims that Jon considered suicide).
