Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Jon Gosselin apparently isn't going down without a fight. One month before he is due in court to face off against TLC, the reality star has reportedly filed a countersuit of $5 million against the network. Why? He feels that he was not adequately represented during negotiations between himself and TLC. The contract was therefore signed out of desperation, theoretically putting both Jon and Kate in a situation where they were both in over their heads.
Of course, the key word in this statement is "theoretically." TLC has said numerous times that contract negotiations were thorough between the Gosselins and the network, and that Jon broke the terms of their contract by making unapproved public appearances and TV interviews for extra cash.
Meanwhile, Jon has yet another problem he is going to face in the court battle: who will represent him? TLC's parent company is based in Maryland, so that is where the lawsuit was filed; however, Jon's attorney Mark Jay Heller is not licensed to practice law in the state. So not only is Jon going to have to come up with more evidence as to why he should win against TLC, but he is also going to have to find a lawyer who will argue his side.
What do you think of Jon's counterclaim: is it legitimate or frankly ridiculous? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment and stay tuned for more "Jon and Kate Plus 8" news.
