David Letterman may have some more explaining to do, at least if you believe a some court documents filed by Robert J. Halderman's attorney. Apparently Halderman, who is being accused of trying to extort $2 million from the late-night host, claims that Letterman's relationship with Stephanie Birkitt continued into this past summer. If this is true, it means that Letterman continued the affair even after marrying longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko.
Letterman's representatives have denied many times that the relationship with Birkitt was going on when the marriage occurred in March; however, his lawyers have yet to give an official date as to when the affair ended.
Halderman is trying to have his extortion trial thrown out due to insufficient evidence, and I will of course have more on this story as it breaks. Do you really believe that Letterman's affair was still going on in the summer? Let me know your thoughts below!
