These witches of "Eastwick" aren't going to have too much longer to show off their magic. ABC has decided to not order any more episodes of the series beyond the initial order of 13, meaning that we are witnessing the first cancellation by the network this fall. "Eastwick" was based on the popular John Updike novel "The Witches of Eastwick" and came into the season with a ton of potential; however, some lukewarm reviews and poor ratings led to ABC apparently giving the show the axe.
Surprisingly, the network has decided to order more episodes of another show struggling in the ratings: the Christian Slater drama "The Forgotten." Even in spite of airing after the popular "Dancing With the Stars" results show, the total number of viewers pales in comparison to "The Good Wife," airing in the same timeslot on CBS.
Do you think ABC made the right choice with these two shows? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below and of course stay tuned for more TV news.
