Two days after news stations around the world were covering the adventures of a boy supposedly trapped in a helium balloon, authorities are reportedly planning to charge the parents responsible for causing the hysteria.
According to TMZ, The Larimer County Sheriff is planning to file misdemeanor charges against the parents of 6-year old Falcon Heene, likely in an attempt to have them pay for some of the cost of manpower and emergency transportation. Heene was discovered inside a box in his parents' attic two hours after it was initially reported that he was aboard the runaway balloon.
The first signs of wrongdoing occurred on "Larry King Live," where the young boy suggested that the entire incident was set up for "the show." The Heenes have a reality TV history with "Wife Swap," and had even pitched a show about their storm-chasing family to TLC.
