Michael Jackson's "This is It," is a movie about a musician final work shortly after his death. It has been on every television show and news station since it's release into the theaters. The major debate: should this film have been released?
I go back and forth. I haven't done the research to find out if Jackson filmed all of his rehearsals or just this one. Some people have been giving him a hard time saying that he filmed it, probably with the intention of releasing the material.
Others say he always recorded his rehearsals and because he is such a perfectionist he would never have wanted this film released to the world. That it's just a rehearsal and not a true concert.
Is it weird to see this movie, seeing that Jackson didn't die that long ago?
Metromix is claiming, "In the case of “This Is It”—the documentary that offers a glimpse at Michael Jackson’s rehearsals for a sold-out run of 50 shows he was set to perform before his shocking death tragically cut those plans short—it’s when a concert movie becomes an opportunity for millions of grieving fans to witness the final blast of creativity from a fallen icon."
Others have claimed the movie falls short and is more of a sad showcase of a fallen pop idol. So, have any of you seen it?
Thanks to the Examiner, I will be seeing the movie this weekend. I will get back to you on my thoughts.
