Did you know that while you pay $650 absurd dollars to fly over four states, the person next to you may have only paid $200? Shocking, I know. But if an airline doesn’t sell out of seats, they have been known to entice passengers by drastically lowering prices for the same flight. The good news, knowledge is money and if you ask your airline for the difference before flying, they’ll likely issue you a voucher for future flights.

There are a couple things you can do. You can wait until it’s too late and ask the person sitting next to you how much they paid. Or you can continuously monitor your flight’s ticket price on the airline’s site.

Who has time for that? Allow me to introduce you to my new pal, Yapta. Use it. A little known air travel booking site, Yapta tracks the price of your flight and will send you an email if you can make money back on price changes. It also watches your back and tracks the rates of flights you haven’t bought.

Watch out Delta!
