The latest report on the subject comes from the July issue of Gastroenterology and the details might surprise those who don't think diet affects their overall health. In a press release from the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Joseph Murray notes some shocking details about the 45-year-long study. It includes statistics regarding the mortality rate of those with celiac who had it and didn't know it, and those who did not have the condition. The conclusion is that people who know they have celiac disease are much better off indeed.
