Proof Joe D looks good in a suit. All he needs is a clipboard.

The 2000-01 season was notable for a several reasons.

It was the last season the Pistons wore the hideous teal jerseys.

Grant Hill was no longer with the team, instead spending his first of many injury-plagued seasons in Orlando.

Fans cheered on Ben Wallace for the first time.

The 2000-01 one season was also the last time the Pistons missed the playoffs, finishing with a 32-50 record.

Oh yeah, and Michael Curry was on the roster.

Yes, it's true that Curry was on a few winning teams during his playing days in Detroit, but those teams didn't win because of him. The Pistons started winning because of players like Big Ben, Corliss Williamson, Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups.

Curry was nothing more than a poor man's Bruce Bowen - a very poor man.

And now Curry has the keys to the franchise in his pocket, haplessly searching for ways to spark a stagnant offense.

Who would've thought Curry and his 4.5 point-per-game scoring average would've   trouble teaching a team to play offense?

At best, Curry's job with the Pistons should be as a defensive coordinator (which, of course, doesn't exist in basketball)

So it's on you now, Joe. Demote him to defensive coordinator. Or just fire him outright.

And once Curry is gone or sitting further down the bench, Joe needs to step out of his plush executive suite and grab the clipboard.

Try to fix this mess you've made. Who knows, maybe Dumars being on the sidelines will spark the team to a playoff berth?

If not, at least Dumars gave it a try. He can return to his office in the offseason and find a suitable replacement to help develop Rodney Stuckey and return the Pistons to the Eastern Conference elite.

But if Dumars is successful, it will make him even more beloved in Motown. Instead of just being one of the best executives in sports, he could be one of the best coaches too.
