LA Gadgets Examiner Rating: A-
Initial impressions mean nothing, especially in the case where we were given five minutes to play with a new Blackberry Storm2 under close supervision. We gave it a negative first impression review based on the dead pixels, SurePress display problems, on-screen keyboard and other things on a unit that we now realize was defective.
After spending fifteen minutes with a non-defective Blackberry Storm2, we can proudly say that Verizon has a winner on its hands. It’s not only much easier to use than the first generation Storm, but is a perfect combination for people who like both iPhones and Blackberries.

Build and Design
The Storm2 looks almost exactly like the first generation storm with a couple minor differences: There is a less noticeable chrome trim on the edges and the function keys (Send, End, Menu, Escape) are now integrated as a part of the screen. The headphone jack is now against the side of the device. Finally the top rocker button has a slight makeover where the left rocker key will first lock the phone and then shut it down if depressed further. The Storm2 is also slightly thinner than the Storm1. It feels great in your hands.
