Dustin Hoffman wins Howard Stern Show contest for charity
Acting icon Dustin Hoffman called in to The Howard Stern Show on Monday morning and won $5,000 for charity. The Howard Stern Show was offered a $5,000 prize to the listener who could get the biggest celebrity to call in to the show and an additional $5,000 to the charity of the celebrity's choice. The Howard Stern Show "Out Produce Booey" contest emerged from Howard Stern Show listener complaints that producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate wasn't booking big enough A-list stars.
Dustin Hoffman beat out other celebrity call-in guests for the Howard Stern Show contest including Steve Carrell, Peter Frampton and a profoundly disappointed Marisa Tomei who placed second. Marisa Tomei's charity of choice was given a $711 consolation prize.
The Howard Stern Show and their sponsor Klondike Ice Cream Bars donated $5,000 to an organization for children with incarcerated parents. Marisa Tomei's donation went to an organization that fights violence against women.
The $5,000 Howard Stern Show listener prize went to Adam Fox, who once worked for Dustin Hoffman as an assistant.
