Andy Richter called The Howard Stern Show this morning to check in before he returns to his seat as Conan O'Brien's right hand man on the tonight's premiere of the new Tonight Show on NBC. Andy Richter said that he wasn't expecting to get the call from Conan O'Brien to be asked to return to the show and that it was an extremely pleasant surprise. Richter reports that he couldn't be happier to be jumping back into O'Brien's sidecar.
Andy Richter tooks some roasting from the Howard Stern Show crew for his series of failed sitcoms since he left Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 2000. Richter tried to find success on his own with sitcoms like Andy Barker, P.I, Quintuplets, and Andy Richter Controls the Universe, but none of the shows really took off.
Howard Stern, who regulalry roasts the newly ousted Tonight Show host Jay Leno said that he wishes Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien the best of luck on tonight's premiere. Tuesday morning's show will likely offer an in-depth critique of the first new Tonight Show episode.
