I often poke fun at the fact that San Antonio's alleged lameness prevents kickass bands from stopping here, instead favoring the friendly confines of Austin, Houston, and (gasp!!!) Dallas. Luckily, the Mars Volta said to hell with all that perception, as is playing Municipal Auditorium on September 19.
Not quite sure why the band chose Municipal, but however we can lure in a band such as this, I'll take it. Tickets aren't yet on sale, but check Ticketmaster often to see when they do go on sale. This is going to be one of those shows no true music fan should miss.
