                         'Going, going... gone'

My status as an American, who in five months will celebrate my 7th decade as a citizen of this great country, gives me the right to express my concern for the continuing meteoric trend of our new administration to de-Americanize everything we used to count as fundamental rights and traditions.
Is it just me or is there anyone else out there perplexed about the insistence that every piece of legislation our President and his party bring before Congress be passed without even allowing time for proper study of the bills by those who were elected to vote on all legislation? With each bill passed our country goes deeper in debt and we draw one step closer to become a totally secularized and socialized society… yet our elected lawmakers continue to march in lockstep with our ‘beloved leader’ even though they are acting contrary to their constituents’ wishes.

The latest clue to Mr. Obama’s wishes for our country’s ultimate goal was revealed just a little over a week ago when the Governor of Arizona sent a letter to school children throughout his state asking them to create 4,000 ornaments to be displayed on ‘America’s Annual Capitol Christmas Tree.”  This is something that has been done for years with different states being given the honor.  But the difference this year was the children were told they could not submit an ornament that had any political reference, understandable since the tree is to celebrate an American traditional, religiously based occasion, or is it?

The children were also told they could not have any religious references on the ornaments either.  They were told to highlight only things that would celebrate the ‘Great Grand Canyon State of Arizona.’

It appears that Mr. Obama’s statement several months ago that, ‘We are no longer a Christian nation,’ is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy on his part. And who is the 'we' he's tallking about.  Our country is 76% Christian, 15% say they have no religious affiliation, and all the Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews and others only account for 4% of our total population.  That's a pretty good majority, even if it's down from 86% in 1990. Sounds like enough to still be classified as a Christian nation to me.  How about you?

Where’s the hue and cry folks to let your elected representatives to Washington know your fed up with them kowtowing to the President’s and the Congressional leaders’ every whim?

To leave you with some good news… there is at least one Federal Court that has gone over to the ‘dark side’ yet.  According to Lifesitenews.com a Federal Court in New Hampshire threw out a suit against the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ and specifically the words ‘Under God.’  Chief Judge Steven McAuliffe ‘issued an order rejecting the Plaintiffs’ arguments and dismissing the complaint.’
