Looking for fun and festive events this weekend to kick off December and put you in a holiday mood? Here are just a few favorites to sweeten your schedule…
FRIDAY - Becky's Fund cordially invites you to a Holiday Happy Hour at Midtown on Friday, December 5 to take "Absolut Action" against Domestic Violence in our community! Enjoy an "Absolut" Vodka and fine Champagne OPEN BAR from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. That will certainly make you jolly…and the mixing styles of DJ George Karmokolias will have you groovin’ under the mistletoe.
*$20 suggested donation to Becky’s Fund accepted. Becky’s Fund is a Women’s Support Fund created by Becky Lee of Survivor: Cook Islands. It serves to combat domestic violence. For more on Becky's Fund, visit www.beckysfund.org.

SATURDAY – One of Alexandria, VA’s best kept secrets is its annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend parade, meandering through the streets of Old Town for its 38th year on December 5th. Before and after the parade, there is also a holiday shopping market to help you cross a few off of your gift list. Look for Williard Scott to be the parade Grand Marshall!
A full weekend of Scottish Christmas events, from the parade to a Scotch tasting and more, is put on each year by the Junior Friends of the Campagna Center, which serves Alexandria families and children in a variety of ways, including providing Head Start programs.

SUNDAY – Ice! No, not on the roads, silly – on YOU! Get the diamond you’ve always dreamed of at once-a-year pricing during the Mervis Diamond Trunk Show. This shiny and sparkly shopping event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am – 10:00 pm at Mervis Diamond Importers in Tyson’s Corner. Sip champagne, drape yourself in jewels, and maybe even win a trip for two to South Africa!
