
The area of interest is about 300 miles northeast of Puerto Rico. It does not have a name yet, but I believe that is just a matter of time. The National Hurricane Center has increased the likelihood of development from yesterday. It now has greater than a 50% chance to become Tropical Storm Danny on Wednesday or Thursday. The upper level winds are favorable, and as it moves west northwest at 20 mph, it will encounter warmer sea surface temperatures as well.

Following Bill?
The path perhaps, but not the strength. The forecast development by the current tropical computer models tracking
this, generally bring this to tropical storm status. However, it is generating in a location close to Bill's path, but Bill was able to become a hurricane at this spot. While it will move in a similar track over warmer water, helping it to strengthen, this storm will race up the east coast to colder water by the weekend, forcing it to stop growing.
