Last year, Chuck was one of those bubble shows that was saved thanks to a rabid fan campagin that included a lot of Subway sandwiches. But now, it looks like the comic spy is coming back sooner than advertised thanks to a poor showing by NBC's Southland and Trauma.
Southland was cancelled only days before it was due to return for a second season. Trauma, in it's first season, is sinking fast and is likely to be pulled as well. This means there will be at least one openning on the NBC schedule in January, months before it's advetised return date.
Now NBC has ordered six more episodes, which leads Variety to conclude that the series will return to the air before the Olympics instead of after. That's great news for Chuck fans who have been keeping vigil waiting for the return of their recently rescued show.
