Google wants Twitter.
Microsoft wants Twitter.
Anonymous sources tell Fast Company that the two giants are after the company-with-no-revenue-but-is-valued-at-one-billion-dollars. (That's Twitter in case you haven't been paying attention.)
Twitter reportedly is in talks with Google and Microsoft to provide a deal that would give their search engines access to Tweets and other data collected by Twitter.
Having a live stream of the so-called Blabber, apparently has high interest from Google and Microsoft.
Lo and behold, this would also give Twitter revenue! Presumably Twitter would benefit from the ad revenue sold against their content.
Microsoft has already shown their desire to get into live search via a limited live search tap into the Twitter feeds of "prominent" Tweeps. Google is also providing limited tweets from celebs among search results.
Twitter seems to be saying they won't provide exclusive access to their tweets. A fact both Google and Microsoft will find hard to swallow.
If the deal is struck, it would be the end of an era for Twitter. They would be monetized.
