Meghan McCain's Twitpic caused an immediate uproar - and prompted her
to issue an apology.

Meghan McCain posted a picture of herself using Twitpic on Twitter. It caused a firestorm of negative reaction and today she is thinking about joining Miley Cyrus and dumping her Twitter account.

The photo - McCain says it was innocent - shows her holding up a book. It also shows her ample assets. Being careful not to hide behind the book, it was clear that McCain wanted to make sure her Twitter followers got a clear shot of her head and shoulders.

Meghan McCain's first reactions to the negativity was kind of pouty.

So I took a fun picture not thinking anything about what I was wearing but apparently anything other than a pantsuit I am a slut."

But then, apparently the support started rolling in and she tweeted:

Ok I am getting the {redacted} off twitter, promise not to delete my account until I sleep on it, thank you for the nice words supporters."

And the next tweet was her mea culpa for her lapse in judgment:

I do want to apologize to anyone that was offended by my twitpic, I have clearly made a huge mistake and am sorry 2 those that are offended."
