WHAT: Forecastle Festival

WHEN: July 10 - 12

WHERE: Louisville, KY

WHAT YOU'RE IN FOR: A city-centric festival with a river-side vibe. Don't let the headliners fool you. This show is for the hipsters as much as it's for the hippies.

EVERYONE'S TALKING ABOUT...:The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Zappa Plays Zappa, Widespread Panic.

...BUT DON'T FORGET: These United States, Laylow, Gringo Star, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Detroit Cobras, Cage The Elephant.

HOW MUCH: Single-day tickets start at $45, three-day passes can be purchased for $100, and kids 5 and under are free. You can also purchase tickets to each night's afterparty -- held onboard the Belle of Louisville -- for $100 apiece. Access the complete list of ticket packages at Ticketmaster.

SPECIAL FEATURES: The location of Forecastle makes this an appealing festival. Riverfront Plaza is a seven-acre grassy spot nestled right up against the Ohio River, so you know the view is gonna be beautiful. Widespread Panic doing two sets each night is nice too.

THE FINAL WORD: Word to the wise. Don't sleep on Louisville. Forecastle has just enough top tier talent to pack the venue, and with three stages and a Disco Dome, there's much to do. The Crowes and the Keys should be in fine form, and the city location will keep the wild countryside behavior at bay. Believe in the ship, ya'll. But more importantly, believe in Louisvill
