1-800-GOT-JUNK? celebrates Super Bowl XLIII with SuperBuild
In a time where economic uncertainty prevails,
1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the world's largest junk removal service, has stepped up to the line once again. This time the
1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise in Pinellas County volunteered their services to assist in
SuperBuild, an outreach program launched between Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties and the NFL’s Community Impact Program to build six houses in one week to needy families in the local Tampa community. All were completed before kick-off February 1
st, 2009.
A seventh and final “Champion’s” home was built and finished on Super Bowl Sunday and later awarded and transported to a di

sadvantaged family from the winner’s home town of Pittsburgh.
Two key supporters of SuperBuild were Tampa Bay Buccaneers Warrick Dunn and Shelton Quarles. Over 90 volunteers joined the construction of the last house and were cheered on by Buc champ Doug Williams and MSNBC’s Keith Olberman. The 1-800-GOT-JUNK? truck and team were on hand to assist in clearing away construction debris and moving cabinetry and new appliances into the homes. In response to SuperBuild, Mayor Pam Iorio said, “When the NFL and the players leave on Monday morning, Tampa Bay will be just a little bit better because they were here.” Six special Tampa families will attest to that.
