Brainy Women are the Wave of the Future

Smart is beautiful! Gone are the days when women had to fit into a certain type of mold; when they had to look a certain way, act a certain way, and hide the fact that they possessed a brain. Women have always been much stronger and much smarter than most people were willing to recognize. So that begs the question, "why did some of them choose to act dumb?" Even that decision shows how smart women really are. Once upon a time dumb was "in" and women capitalized on that strange phenomenon to get where they needed to go. Blondes were never really as clueless as so many cliches made them out to be. In fact, as it turns out today, many of them were quite capable of easily outdistancing their brunette and redhead sisters. But while they were doing so, they also capitalized on the naivete of people who automatically assumed they were something else altogether. They used their looks to get in the door of virtually any type of business or occupation they wanted. Once there, however, they had the opportunity to prove their real mettle. Luckily, today women have done way with most pretence. Those are simply no longer needed. Dumb is no longer in. Brains are all the rage. That is, in many ways, more liberating that burning a bra or marching in a parade for any woman’s rights issues. It gives women the right to be who they are. That is, after all, what they wanted in the first place. It took the gender long enough to get there. Women have had to fight for every scrap of dignity since the beginning of time. However, they have come a long way in spite of all of the obstacles that a patriarchal system placed in front of them. They fought for the right to be treated as human beings rather than as property. They fought for the right to vote. They fought to break corporate America’s invisible glass ceiling. And they fought to be considered an equal in every way. It’s been a long, uphill battle but the day has finally come. That’s not to say that women will let themselves go. Beauty still garners its own unique kind of attention and respect. For that reason, most women will continue to strive to look their very best all of the time. It is wonderful side benefit so why relinquish it? But it no longer needs to take front and center. While it may still be useful in gaining someone’s attention, the smart woman knows that it is her brain that will keep others interested in what she has to say. Some of the most successful women in the world are brainy and beautiful as well. Angelina Jolie has long been considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. However, it is her brain that keeps her on top as she makes all the right choices for her life and her career. Sarah Palin, whether you love or hate her, must be recognized for everything she has accomplished as a woman within a very short time span. Danielle Steele has parlayed a love of romance and a talent for writing into a multi-million dollar enterprise that has spanned decades. And those only begin to scratch the surface of successful women. They exist in every area of business, industry, education, politics, the arts, and religion. Whether or not one believes that the Amazonian women of old truly once existed, there is little doubt that they are alive and well in the world today. They are the women who rule their homes with an iron fist inside of a velvet glove. They are in the boardroom making certain that businesses are healthy and financially secure. They are in the political arena, keeping America sound. Everywhere you turn you can see one; the Amazonian Warrior of today - - Wonder Woman - - if you will. She exists for one reason and one reason alone. She is smart, savvy, sexy, and beautiful. But she isn't the least bit dumb. Those who think she is had better reconsider and beware.
