I’m driving in my car and once again I hear a right wing nut on the radio doing an ad for the very thing that a minute earlier he was ranting against. I recall being in the car and listening to Hannity go on and on about the bailout of GM. Obviously he didn’t like it. Then, here comes the commercial break and, you guessed an ad for GM, and Hannity is telling us what great cars they are. So I’m asking myself, what’s up with this? If they are allowed to go under and be liquidated of their assets, Hannity loses one of his biggest sponsors. I can’t imagine the execs at GM enjoying the fact that this guy is calling for their demise, and then taking their money so he can continue calling for their demise. On the other hand, if he promotes the bailout of GM then doesn’t he have a conflict of interest? So…he either promotes them and exposes a conflict of interest in which his opinion on the matter is worthless, OR…he takes their money and calls for their demise…making him a hypocrite of the first magnitude.
But Hannity is hardly alone here. Not by a long shot. Once again, I’m in the car and this time it’s Limbaugh and then the intrepid Glenn Beck shilling for LegalZoo.com. August happens to be Living Will Month with these folks and Limbaugh and Beck and the others are now all hawking the benefits of having the very thing that they are shouting against. It’s the very thing that they are calling….a Death Panel. It leads to euthanasia you know. But for 30 seconds…they’re the best thing in the world. Then the commercial is over and it’s back to death panels and euthanasia. Does anybody attending these Town Hall meetings ever ask themselves if this thing is so bad, then why are the guys that are telling them how bad it is, selling the idea that it’s great? Could it be that, they’re only in it for the bucks?
