At the World Championships in Berlin, Germany yesterday, Usain Bolt ran the 100-meter race in 9.58 seconds. Since May of 2008 when the record was an astounding 9.74 seconds, Bolt has broken the record 3 times.

Check out the history-making video of yesterday's race.

You may remember Usain Bolt from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The Lightning Bolt, as he calls himself, lit Beijing on fire, setting 3 new world records and winning 3 gold medals in his Olympic debut.

American Tyson Gay, Bolt's closest competitor, had to settle for second place. He finished in 9.71, setting an American record in the process.

The best part? Bolt thinks he can go faster, hoping to break 9.4 seonds in the near future. Considering he has already made the biggest improvement in the 100-meter record since electronic timing began in 1968, anything is possible.

Happy running!
