This week's HDH has to do with the wonderful Potomac 5K held each July 4th that benefits Autism Speaks, one of the leading organizations striving to increase awareness and education regarding autism spectrum disorders.

The race starts at the Potomac Library located at the intersection of River and Falls Roads in Potomac, Maryland. The course runs through the beautiful neighborhoods of Potomac and runners have the benefit of a long, downhill finish. In addition to the 5K, there is a 1K walk.

You can register online through midnight tonight. Otherwise, you can register at the Potomac United Methodist Church, on the corner of Falls Rd and South Glen Rd on July 3rd. And there is on-site registration race morning.

I've had the pleasure to run this race many times and it is a wonderful race held for a great cause. Start your July 4th off with a bang!

For more information about the race, or to register, please visit the race website.

Happy running!
