In honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow, today's HDH has to do with reflection and gratitude.

This time of year allows for a certain amount of reflection. This is an important aspect of running because when we look back at our training, we can see not only areas that need improvement, but also places we have excelled. We can use this as motivation to move forward. Using our past victories, whether big or small, we can continue on a road to true success.

It's important to be reflective in other areas of life, as well. For instance, if we treat Thanksgiving Day as a mere custom, then we are missing out on the true meaning of the holiday. As much as we enjoy Thanksgiving for the dinner and the festivities, we must also rejoice for our good fortune. So, have fun with your family this Thanksgiving, but don't forget to say 'thank you.'

Here's a quote I like to remember at Thanksgiving, and throughout the year.

"Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."

-Melody Beattie
