This fine fellow is certainly ready for a rockin' time.

Determined not to let you spend Thanksgiving locked away with the extended family whose names you may or may not remember come Christmas, this Examiner has compiled a list of awesome/fun things to do in lieu of giving thanks over a plate of cold turkey, box mashed potatoes and packaged gravy. Enjoy!

Alex’s Bar
Thanksgiving, Thurs., Nov 27, 2008- Anytime a rockabilly/punk/scene joint advertises a Thanksgiving Spectacular you know you’re in for something special. Especially when that spectacular is free. Starring DJ Al-Wrecks and quite possibly a support team of brigands and ne’er do wells guzzling their weight in PBR, show your thanks to the puritan travelers by spreading debauchery and grinning like a fool.

Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008- The LEGENDARY Phil Shane. You don’t want to miss this. Also, FREE.

2913 E. Anaheim St.
(Next to the Auto Zone, entrance in the back)
Long Beach, CA 90804
562-434-8292

La Cave
Friday, Nov. 28, 2008- Orange County’s favorite underground steakhouse/lounge is playing host to the one and only, The LEGENDARY Phil Shane. Boogie down with your best pal, or bring Grandma for a jump ‘n’ jive and watch that hip replacement being put to good use!

Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008- Come support local SoCal rocker, Will Crum, as he unassumingly blasts your eardrums.

1696 Irvine Ave
Costa Mesa, Ca 92627
949.646.7944
Sat, Nov 29, 2008- Will Crum & AC Means

The Echo
Fri, Nov 28, 2008- Club Underground swings in full gear, so mod yourself out, practice that affected Manchester twang and get ready for some of the best of the British invasion all for your aural enjoyment.

Sat, Nov 29, 2008- Analog, 80s Electro Dance Club, see above but replace “British Invasion” with “Hey, do you think this song needs more synth?”

Sun, Nov 30, 2008- Blitzen Trapper w/ The Parson Redheads. In all honesty, this promises to be an amazing show.

1822 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90026
