It's official - national unemployment rises to 10.2% in the month of October. We lost 190,000 jobs for the month of October, which is higher than the expected number of 175,000.
In the last three months, we have averaged 188,000 jobs lost which is still much better than the 645,000 in the months from Nov. 08 to Apr. 09.
Most sectors lost jobs in the past month, with Construction (-62,000) and Manufacturing (-61,000) leading the way.
Not all news is bad though - Health care employment actually added 29,000 jobs this month and this sector has added an unbelievable 597,000 jobs since the recession began!
We have broken the 10% barrier and it looks like unemployment may even inch higher in the upcoming months.
