If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

With Election Day two weeks away, many Christians are leery of America’s future. What we need keep in mind is that God is sovereign, He will raise up whom He will to carry out His will.

Our job in the meantime is to vote our conscience, vote according to God’s commandments, choose a president, congressman or woman and all of our leaders based on whether their actions show they follow Christ, not their own desire for power and celebrity.

We are also called to PRAY! Our conversation with God holds much merit! So let us humble ourselves and petition our Lord to raise up a leader, who will carry out His will. Ask our heavenly Father to forgive the sinfulness of our nation, our culture, our own misdeeds, and renew our spirits to serve Him well...to serve Him wisely and to serve Him with grateful hearts.

My inbox has been filled with a flurry of reminders that PRAYER VIGILS are going on every night from 8-9PM. You can join from where ever you may be.... And not to be legalistic about it, you can choose whatever time you like...

But do pray fervently for our Country, for our young men and women defending our Country and for a leader who will lead with the principles of Jesus Christ as their guide! This also came across my desk and I thought these words from Billy Graham were most definitely worth sharing!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!'
