Local parks highlight: Centennial Park

Centennial Park is the largest park in Howard County. With 7000+ acres, this park has plenty of land to do many things with. There’s also a large lake in the park for recreational use. You can rent a boat from the boathouse or launch your own boat to go fishing or just plain sightseeing.
There are also a handful of wonderful pavilions and picnic areas to rent for a fee. Parking is spacious for large events as well.
The park also has softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts. There are also hiking trails and horseshoe pits. They run a general store where you can purchase fishing equipment or rent a boat, canoe, or kayak. They also have concessions for sale at the store.
