Peyton Siva was unanimously selected Wednesday as the Associated Press Washington prep player of the year. Siva led Franklin to the Class 3A state title, while averaging 18.1 ppg. The 6’1 senior point, busy as ever playing in off-season all-star events, will play for Rick Pitino’s Louisville Cardinals next year.
This past weekend, fresh off his McDonald’s All-American performance, Siva played in the annual Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic at Freedom; a tradition in the state of Kentucky that features high school senior talent heading to the state to play for UK and Louisville. Siva’s performance was no short of impressive. Though his Black squad lost to the Gold, Siva shined with 15 points and 11 assists on his way to the home team MVP. It is no wonder fans of the ‘Ville are giddy over getting one of the top prep talent.
